Conan Exiles Enters a New Era as Massive FREE UE5 Notes (5th May 2026)
Conan Exiles Enhanced is live now as a free UE5 upgrade for all Steam owners, merging The Exiled Lands and The Isle of Siptah into one connected world for the first time.

Eight years in, and Funcom has just handed Conan Exiles players one of the biggest free upgrades in the game's history. Developed in partnership with Inflexion Games, Conan Exiles Enhanced is live on Steam today, moving the entire game to Unreal Engine 5 with improved environments, character models, lighting, and a redesigned UI. Performance targets 60+ FPS across all graphical presets on most PCs, and Steam Deck support is in there too.
The headline change, though, is the map merge. The Exiled Lands and The Isle of Siptah can now be explored without switching characters or restarting. Multiplayer servers can host both regions simultaneously, which is a big deal for communities that have been splitting playtime across two separate sessions for years. I'm not going to pretend this isn't overdue, but the fact that it's arriving as a free upgrade rather than a paid re-release is exactly how it should be done.
The update lands just ahead of the game's May 8 anniversary. Here's the full breakdown.
Full Patch Notes
▲ BuffGreetings Exiles,
Conan Exiles Enhanced is officially live on Steam, bringing the most dramatic visual and technical overhaul the survival hit has seen since its launch eight years ago.
Funcom, working in partnership with Inflexion Games, has released the upgrade as a free download for all current and future Steam owners.
Arriving just ahead of the game’s May 8 anniversary, the Enhanced edition is a gift to the millions of Conan Exiles players around the world.
A Modernized Conan Exiles
The upgrade moves the entire game into Unreal Engine 5, unifying eight years of post‑launch content and giving the world of Conan a sweeping visual refresh. Players jumping in today will see:
- Sharply improved environments, character models, lighting, and effects
- A redesigned UI and numerous quality‑of‑life upgrades
- Performance targeting 60+ FPS across all graphical presets on most PCs
- Strong Steam Deck performance for portable survival
Two Maps Become One World
For the first time, players can freely travel between The Exiled Lands and The Isle of Siptah (the latter still sold separately). The two massive regions are now integrated and connected, eliminating the need to choose a map at character creation or start over to explore both.
Multiplayer servers can host both regions simultaneously, dramatically expanding the playable space for communities that own the Siptah expansion.
A Survival Staple Reinvented
Since its 2018 debut, Conan Exiles has become one of the most recognizable survival games on the market, set in the brutal universe inspired by Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian. Funcom frames the Enhanced edition as a celebration of the game’s longevity.
Conan Exiles Enhanced is out now as a free upgrade for all Steam players.
