Recently, a new glitch in Apex Legends has caused chaos among players, with accounts being completely reset, progress lost, and earned content missing. Respawn took to Twitter to address this issue. Players have been vocal about the impact of this bug, with reports pouring in on the Apex Legends subreddit.
We've seen your reports about account resets in @PlayApex and are investigating. We'll let you know as soon as we have an update on the issue.

This glitch is not holding back, affecting player statistics, paid cosmetics, ranked progress, and other crucial account data. Some players even reported issues with the in-game store. As the Apex Legends team works on investigating the problem, players are left in limbo, unsure of what the future holds for their accounts.
While the root cause of the glitch is still unknown, many believe it may be linked to the recent April Fool's update and the new season split. There are speculations that cross-progression may also play a role in this issue, as the official Apex Legends account responded to a player's post mentioning losing progress due to cross-progression.
With the game in such a vulnerable state, many players are hesitant to even log in, expressing their frustration on social media platforms. This comes on the heels of a recent incident where Apex Legends pros were hacked during an official tournament, leading to the event being postponed. The hacker later revealed they did it "just for fun," adding insult to injury for the already frustrated player base.
Adding to the turmoil, Respawn recently faced layoffs within the Apex Legends team, further fueling player concerns about the game's future. As the investigation into the account reset glitch continues, players are left to ponder the stability of their accounts and the overall state of the game.
