$2,500 GPU Required to Run Dawnwalker at 4K
Rebel Wolves' vampire RPG lists an RTX 5090 as the requirement for native 4K at 60fps, putting the GPU cost alone north of $2,500. The rest of the spec sheet is more reasonable, but that top tier is eye-watering.
If you want to play The Blood of Dawnwalker at native 4K and 60fps when it launches on September 3, you'll need an RTX 5090. That's a graphics card that currently costs upwards of $2,500 on its own, before you've even thought about the rest of your build. The full PC spec breakdown was published alongside the game's release date announcement and Steam page going live, and while the lower tiers are far more reasonable, that Ultra tier is a stark reminder of where the high end of PC gaming sits right now.
Paired with the RTX 5090, Rebel Wolves lists an Intel i5-13600K or AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, 16GB of RAM, and 60GB of SSD storage for the native 2160p at 60fps experience. A full build hitting those numbers would run you roughly $3,000. I don't think anyone should be building a PC specifically for one game, but if you already own an RTX 5090, congratulations on both your hardware and your timing.
The more relevant specs for most players sit lower on the chart. At 1440p and 60fps, you're looking at an RTX 4070 Ti or AMD RX 7800 XT, both cards that have been on the market long enough to find at reasonable prices. The recommended tier for 1080p at 60fps calls for an RTX 5060 or RX 6800 XT. And the minimum spec, targeting 1080p at 30fps, drops all the way down to an RTX 3050, GTX 1070, or AMD RX Vega 56 with 6GB of VRAM. If you've upgraded your GPU at any point in the last five years, you're probably fine to run this game in some capacity.
The 4K Tax
Listing an RTX 5090 as the 4K requirement isn't unusual in 2026. We're at a point where native 4K at 60fps in a visually dense open-world game is simply beyond what mid-range hardware can deliver without upscaling. What makes Dawnwalker's spec sheet notable is the sheer dollar amount attached to NVIDIA's current flagship, which has been difficult to find at MSRP since launch. The practical reality is that most people playing this game at 4K will be using DLSS or FSR to get there on lesser hardware, and that's fine. But Rebel Wolves listing native 4K specs without mentioning upscaling as an option feels like an incomplete picture. I'd be surprised if DLSS isn't supported at launch given the NVIDIA-heavy spec sheet, but it hasn't been explicitly confirmed yet.
The specs also tell us something about the game's visual ambitions. This is a studio of around 150-160 people, many of them CD Projekt Red veterans, building a dark fantasy open world set in the Carpathian Mountains. Based on the third gameplay overview and the footage shown at Rebel Wolves' studio, the environments are dense and atmospheric, with a day-night cycle that changes how the game plays. Coen, the half-human, half-vampire protagonist, has different traversal and combat abilities depending on the time of day, and the nighttime sequences in particular lean heavily on lighting and particle effects. Pushing all of that at native 4K without upscaling was always going to be expensive.
What I find more interesting than the top-end spec is the minimum requirement. An RTX 3050 or GTX 1070 at 1080p and 30fps is a low floor for a game that looks this ambitious. It suggests Rebel Wolves has put real work into scalability, which matters far more to the actual player base than whether the Ultra tier demands a mortgage payment. Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz told press during a recent studio visit that the team is confident in the game, and the spec range backs that up. They're not building something that only runs on bleeding-edge hardware.
Dawnwalker launches September 3 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Bandai Namco has not confirmed whether the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass. Pre-orders are live on Steam and include an early-game armor set, with a Collector's Edition offering a physical world compendium and a 23cm Coen figurine. Console players, naturally, don't have to worry about any of this spec business, which is either a relief or a disappointment depending on how you feel about 30fps modes.
