The much-anticipated sequel to the socio-economic survival game, Frostpunk 2, has its official release date. At the recent Xbox Partner Preview, it was confirmed that the game will be playable starting July 25, 2024, on platforms including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Originally, the developer 11 Bit Studios suggested that the launch was to be scheduled for the first half of 2024. It's a relief for fans that Frostpunk 2 has not been hit with any unexpected delays. Alongside the release date, a brand-new trailer has also been rolled out with a glimpse of what's to expect from the Deluxe Edition and an April 2024 beta.

In an exciting offer, players can currently avail of a pre-order for the Digital Deluxe Edition at a 10% discount. The Deluxe Edition comes packed with attractive features including three post-launch paid DLCs, and early access to the story mode three days ahead of the official release.

Taking place 30 years after the Great Storm, Frostpunk 2 builds on the beloved mechanics of its predecessor while introducing fresh challenges that explore the darker aspects of human nature. The most recent trailer primarily featured cinematic content, but also sneak-peaks into actual gameplay, promising future trailers with deeper insights into the game’s mechanics.

This week’s Xbox Partner Preview also teased the upcoming game additions to Xbox’s Game Pass this March. Exciting inclusions are MLB The Show 24, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, and the return of Control Ultimate Edition. Xbox also revealed an exclusive Fallout-themed controller available for customization by fans.
