11 bit studios have rolled out a brand new semi-open beta for Frostpunk 2, accompanied by an in-depth gameplay showcase of the upcoming city-builder. If you're eager to get a sneak peek and contribute your feedback before the official release, now's your chance!

The beta period kicks off on April 15th at 1pm ET and will run until April 22nd at 1pm ET. To gain access to this exclusive testing phase, all you need to do is pre-order the Deluxe Edition of Frostpunk 2. Along with the opportunity to participate in the beta, Deluxe Edition buyers will also be treated to a host of other perks, including three post-launch DLCs, early access, a digital artbook and soundtrack, an exclusive in-game item, and a digital copy of the "Warm Flesh" novella.

If you're curious about what Frostpunk 2 has in store, be sure to check out the gameplay deep dive video featuring game co-directors Jakub Stokalski and Lukasx Juszczyk. They provide insights into the evolution of the game's mechanics and highlight key changes players can expect in the sequel.

One of the major enhancements in Frostpunk 2 is the shift towards district-wide construction, enabling players to plan and develop entire neighborhoods at once. Additionally, the game emphasizes the impact of societal dynamics, with communities potentially splintering into factions that challenge your leadership decisions. The introduction of community councils adds a new layer of complexity, as citizens can now influence city laws through voting, triggering internal conflicts.

Mark your calendars for July 25th, the official launch date of Frostpunk 2 on PC. For those subscribed to PC Game Pass from Microsoft, you'll also have the opportunity to experience the game through this platform upon release.
