Two years after its launch, the Steam Deck has become a powerhouse in the world of handheld gaming. According to tracking site SteamDB, there are now 14,023 games that are compatible with Valve's handheld device.

Of these games, 4,607 have been 'Verified' by Valve, meaning they work seamlessly on the Steam Deck right out of the box. Additionally, 9,416 games are considered 'Playable' and may require some manual tweaking to run smoothly on the device.

Valve is in the process of reviewing the entire Steam catalogue and assigning each game with a specific rating to indicate how well it will perform on the Steam Deck. The ratings include 'Unsupported' for games that won't work on the device, 'Unknown' for games that have yet to be tested, 'Verified', and 'Playable'.

If you're curious about which of your own games are compatible with the Steam Deck, you can check out the Steam Deck Compatibility page where you can log into your Steam account and see the compatibility status of each game.

For a game to be Deck Verified by Valve, it needs to meet specific criteria including full controller support, the correct display resolution, seamless gameplay without compatibility warnings, and support through Proton if necessary.

Interestingly, a record-breaking 14,535 games were released on Steam in 2023, indicating the platform's continued growth. With 3,160 games already released this year, Steam shows no signs of slowing down.

Exciting promotions are on the horizon for Steam in early 2024, with the much-anticipated Spring Sale set to launch this week. Stay tuned for great deals on your favourite games!
