The software giant is set to roll out its first exclusive ad showcasing Xbox's popular Game Pass subscription service. This advertisement is strategically placed under the "Settings" option, making it easily accessible for users immersed in the gaming world.

The revealing of this new ad has been long-awaited, and with the recent release of version 26120.470 (KB5037864) in the Dev channel, users can expect to see the Game Pass promotion card on the Settings homepage. Microsoft describes this update as follows:

"We are introducing a new Game Pass recommendation card on the Settings homepage. The Game Pass recommendation card on Settings Homepage will be shown to you if you actively play games on your PC. Remember, the Settings homepage will only appear on the Home and Pro editions of Windows 11 and if you are signed into Windows with your Microsoft account."

While Xbox Game Pass growth on consoles has pretty much stopped, the PC version of the subscription service continues to expand. This new ad placement on Windows 11 could be Microsoft's strategy to reach a wider audience of daily Windows users who may not be traditional gamers but are interested in exploring new gaming experiences.

It's essential to understand that only users actively engaged in the Game Pass service and running the Home or Pro edition of Windows 11 will see this advertisement. Therefore, this marketing move is tailored specifically for gamers who are already invested in or curious about the Game Pass ecosystem, ensuring that it enhances rather than disrupts the user experience.
