The July 28-29 hotfixes reveal a deliberate reshuffling of PvP healing power rather than a blanket nerf or buff. Holy Priests and Restoration Shamans receive meaningful increases, Holy Fire damage up 15-27% and Riptide healing up 15%, whilst Mistweaver Monks face a severe correction. Way of the Crane, which was converting 340% of Spinning Crane Kick's damage into healing in PvP, drops to 100%. This is not a small adjustment. The changelog does not explain the underlying complaint, but the developers' notes clarify that Mistweavers were outputting excessive healing specifically against clumped targets and pet classes. That context matters: this fix targets a specific matchup problem rather than a general overperformance.

Demon Hunters absorb the patch's most visible reductions. Demon Muzzle's magic damage reduction falls from 15% to 5%, and Glimpse's airborne mitigation drops from 35% to 25%. The developers' notes state both Devourer and Havoc variants have been too difficult to kill. These changes directly address survival, not damage output, which suggests the problem was not burst but sustained durability. For players running Demon Hunter in PvP, these are not cosmetic tweaks. They materially increase the risk of being focused down.

A critical bug fix lands for Blood Death Knights. The Dance of Midnight Apex talent, ranks 2 and 3, was incorrectly increasing damage taken instead of decreasing it. This was a regression that affected survivability in both PvE and PvP contexts. The fix restores the talent's intended function but does not address why such a reversal slipped through in the first place.

World Boss rewards receive two separate fixes. Alt characters were sometimes not receiving soulbound loot, and the system could award pieces that did not match the player's chosen specialisation. These are quality-of-life corrections that affect the entire playerbase running World Bosses, but they also suggest the loot system had been silently failing for an unspecified period. The changelog does not state how long this bug existed or how many players were affected.

Decor Duel, the hide-and-seek PvP mode, receives a balance pass. The final 30 seconds no longer auto-reveals hiders, seekers gain energy 20% more slowly, and Illusionary Coins rewards double. Hiders no longer attract flies, which appears to be a literal bug fix rather than balance tuning. These changes extend match duration and reduce the seeker's late-game advantage, directly benefiting players who prefer the hider role.

Minor quest fixes address Dawnwell turn-ins and a missing portal to Magister's Terrace, whilst Mists of Pandaria Classic players can now purchase Platinum toys from the Challenge Mode Exchange if they earned the required achievements. These are scattered convenience fixes that do not signal any larger pattern or priority shift. The absence of any mention of ongoing PvE balance issues or raid tuning suggests the development focus remains on PvP equilibrium and bug remediation.
