Total War: Warhammer III Hotfix 8.0.1 Patch Notes (22nd May 2026)
A quick hotfix follows Update 8.0 as Warhammer III's free weekend gets underway. Here's what changed.

Hot on the heels of the big Update 8.0 and Bhashiva Character Pack we covered yesterday, Creative Assembly has pushed Hotfix 8.0.1 for Total War: Warhammer III today. The timing makes sense: the game is currently in the middle of a free weekend on Steam running until 25th May, so getting a hotfix out before a wave of new players arrives is exactly the right call.
The notes themselves are light on detail from what's been published so far, which is a little frustrating given how much 8.0 changed across Cathay's tech trees and hero skill systems. Hotfixes that follow major updates tend to address the most immediately obvious breakage, so if you ran into anything odd after 8.0 landed, this is likely the patch targeting it.
If you haven't tried the game yet, the free weekend runs alongside an 85% discount as part of the Skulls sale on the Total War Steam page, which lasts until 28th May. Full patch notes below.
