Star Wars The Old Republic Game Update 7.9b Notes (22nd June 2026)
7.9b tackles Legacy Reborn's rough edges with dozens of ability fixes, cinematic polish, and some overdue quality-of-life adjustments.

Game Update 7.9b landed today with a heavy focus on cleaning up Legacy Reborn's launch issues. If you've been hitting invisible walls, watching abilities fire silently, or dealing with NPCs clipping through scenery, this patch is for you.
The bulk of the work went into ability fixes, Darth Jadus' Storm of Shadows no longer damages you after the attack ends, T7-01's abilities now have sound effects, and the Sith Monstrosity's attacks trigger properly. Cinematics got similar treatment, with camera fixes for body types 3 and 4, asset clipping resolved, and several instances where characters walked through walls now corrected. Mission progression also got attention; the Bail Out ability works consistently now, and companion spawning issues during phase transitions are fixed.
One note for players with manual firewall setups: you may need to permit outbound TCP ports 9001-9021 from the SWTOR client. Check the full patch notes for the complete list of fixes across missions, UI, and companion windows.

Some SWTOR players may need to set up additional firewall/port forwarding rules and permit outbound TCP 9001-9021 from the SWTOR Game Client if they have manual port forwarding or a firewall configuration.
General Bug Fixes
General
- The pillar that appears in front of the doorway inside the Sith Academy has been removed.
- Characters using Male Body Type 3 no longer get stuck when jumping immediately after using Quick Travel to the Excavation Overlook travel point.
Missions
- Various Imperial soldier NPCs' head models now appear properly aligned with their bodies.
Cinematics
- Fixed shots in the cinematic of leaving Odessen that were showing incorrect views in the background.
Items
- When buying an item with token currency, the “Final Warning” dialogue will now only appear when the item cannot be refunded.
- The Sporefall, Obsidian, and Terra Shaclaw are now referred to as their proper names in the descriptions of each minipet.
Companion & Contacts Window
- Torian Cadera/Vette is now listed in the "Ineligible for Story” tab if the player chooses to leave him/her to die in “End Times”.
- Rass Ordo now appears only once in the window after Legacy Reborn is completed.
- Original and Knights of the Fallen Empire returned companions now remain in the same category tab when players transition to story phases.
Wreckage on Dantooine
- The mission is now available at the terminal while the Core Competence mission is active.
- Fixed an issue that prevented players who skipped the Dantooine Crash Site introduction mission from purchasing higher ranks of hazard protection.
Legacy Reborn Bug Fixes

General
- The correct animation triggers when Darth Malgus jumps while in combat.
Abilities
- The visual effect of the “Focused Storm” ability is now visible when Darth Malgus casts it on enemy NPCs.
- Darth Jadus’ “Storm of Shadows” ability now only damages the player after the attack has completed.
- The sound effects for T7-01’s “Reconfigure Circuit" and “Blaster Volley” abilities are now audible.
- The Power Droid’s “Massive Discharge” ability no longer affects the player if they are outside of the AoE’s area of impact.
- The sound effect for the Cable Droid’s “Massive Discharge” ability now triggers when it is cast.
- The sound effect for the “Bombardment” ability now triggers when used to destroy the Air Defense cannons.
- The “Repulsor Pushed” stun debuff icon now appears as intended during the mission.
- A Hovertank’s basic attack no longer casts a debuff on the player.
- The Sith Monstronsity’s “Dark Blast” ability now deals damage immediately upon impact.
- The sound effect for the Sith Monstrosity’s “Enraged Smash” ability now triggers when the ability is being used.
- The sound effects for Heta Kol’s “Launch”, “Charging Shard”, “Laser Slash”, and “Crystal Shield” abilities now trigger when she uses them.
- Darth Jadus’ “Blast of Shadow” ability no longer displays an additional visual effect if the player is outside of the AoE circle.
- Darth Jadus’ “Repel” ability will no longer push the player into Darth Nul’s machine.
- Players will now only receive damage from the “Horrowing Storm” ability when within its AoE range.
- During the mission step, Darth Jadus’ applied buff now displays a name, icon, and tooltip.
Missions
- Fixed an instance of the "Bail Out" ability not working.
- Players can now only interact with the Power Droid once they’ve completed the mission’s previous steps.
- Sa’har no longer spawns as a follower if the player exits and reenters the phase after completing this mission step.
- The player character’s weapons can no longer be seen levitating at the spawn point.
- The invisible NPC is no longer present once Darth Jadus is defeated.
- The tooltip now appears when the player’s cursor hovers over the map icons.
- The Basilisk’s Charge ability now only works for enemies in front of the Basilisk.
- Theron Shan will now stay near the player during this mission step.
- Darth Jadus no longer spawns inside of Nul’s machine if players log out and then back in while on this mission step.
Cinematics
- Fixed various issues with assets clipping during cinematics.
- The Meditation Sphere’s Anchor no longer appears interactable during cinematics.
- The landing ship now remains visible in the background for Imperial players.
- T7-01 no longer appears through a wall in certain cases.
- The player character and Lana Beniko no longer appear to walk through a wall when entering the briefing room.
- The camera will remain in focus for player characters using body types 3 and 4 while kissing Lana Beniko.
- The player character no longer abruptly equips their weapon when speaking to Jekiah Ordo.
- The player character now holds their weapon correctly when confronting Darth Malgus.
- The player’s weapon remains sheathed/holstered when confronting Darth Malgus.
- Darth Malgus no longer redraws his lightsaber.
- Darth Malgus’s hand now appears to grip his lightsaber.
UI
- The following maps no longer change to the World Map while the player is walking along the area pathways:
- Naga Sadow’s Laboratory
- Fortress Sub Level
- Command Deck
- Fortress Defense Control
