Sunkenland Update v0.8.20 Patch Notes (13th July 2026)

V0.8.20 squashes several progression blockers and adds cloud saves to ease your island survival.

Sunkenland's latest patch tackles some stubborn progression killers that've been locking players out of endgame content. The big one: you can now free slaves without accidentally bricking later missions, a fix that should spare anyone who's already hit that particular wall from restarting their save.

Beyond the mission fixes, v0.8.20 brings cloud saves to the table, which is a practical win for anyone juggling multiple playthroughs or switching between machines. Performance gets a boost too, with optimised save-loading logic that should cut down stutter when you're browsing your worlds. The Big Barrel Fortress now has a functional elevator once you've cleared the enemies, and you can finally hide helmet armour if you'd rather not look like a walking tank.

There's also some welcome loot distribution tweaks: anatase ore now spawns in the Ship Graveyard, Power Plant, and The Ruins Island, and the gun merchant has a 20% chance to stock a VSS receiver, giving you better odds at finding the gear you need. Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where freeing slaves too early could make later missions impossible to complete.
  • Fixed radio broadcast progress resetting when the radio broadcast was dismantled.
  • Fixed the mission to speak with the Elder being unable to progress.
  • Fixed range having an abnormal effect on gun damage.
  • Fixed ship-mounted ammo boxes abnormally increasing their ammo count when ammo was repeatedly added and removed.
  • Fixed an issue where choosing to respawn at a ship-mounted sleeping bag could drop you into the hull (especially on clients).
  • Fixed the Electric Drill crafting recipe by removing quartz, a material that's already been removed from the game.
  • Fixed an issue where building a wall with a door on the foundation at the bottom of stairs let you go up the stairs but not back down and out the door.
  • Fixed the stove not returning an empty bottle when crafting required a Bottle of Water.
  • Fixed certain items turning into a white, glowing material when viewed up close.
  • Fixed the interaction point not being on the barrel when turning in the Iron Spear mission .

Revisions and Optimizations

  • Added cloud saves.
  • Updated the Dedicated Server.
  • Optimized save-loading logic when selecting a world to reduce stutter.
  • Improved the visuals of the Floating Shelter and the final island.
  • Improved the Big Barrel Fortress, adding an elevator that can be freely used to go up and down once all enemies are killed.
  • Added the ability to hide helmet armor.
  • Added anatase ore spawns to the Ship Graveyard, Power Plant, and The Ruins Island.
  • Gave the gun merchant a 20% chance to stock a VSS receiver.
