Sunkenland 0.8.41 Patch Notes (31st July 2026)
The latest Sunkenland patch closes several exploits affecting weapons and multiplayer progression, whilst opening Eden Island for construction and adding new loot locations.

Update 0.8.41 is less about headline features and more about closing gaps that have been letting players bypass intended progression. The most visible change, building construction now enabled on Eden Island, is straightforward, but the bug fixes underneath reveal where the game's economy and progression systems have been leaking.
The free weapon receiver exploit is the one that stings. AUG, FAMAS, and VSS receivers could be obtained from weapon merchants without cost, which meant players could skip an entire tier of crafting progression and jump straight to mid-game weapon assembly. This was not a subtle loophole; it breaks the early-game economy if you know about it. Fixing it means players who were using this will now need to actually earn those receivers through normal progression, which could sting if you've been building a stash. The ammunition configuration fix for Auto Turrets and Auto Machine Guns is less obvious in impact, but incorrect ammo configs typically mean either weapons performing below their intended damage or players wasting resources on the wrong ammunition type.
The companion progression block on the Research Table achievement is a multiplayer-specific pain point. One player couldn't complete this achievement at all in co-op, which means anyone chasing 100% completion in a shared world was locked out. The Occupation achievement fix for client-side players in multiplayer addresses the same issue from a different angle. Achievements weren't registering properly for non-host players, which is a persistent friction in co-op games where only one player's progress counts toward shared milestones.
Eden Island construction is the patch's practical win. It expands where you can build without the previous restriction, and the new containers near the Bridge area add two new records: "Next Holiday" and "Whispers Through the Static." These are lore drops rather than mechanical rewards, which fits Sunkenland's environmental storytelling approach. The High-Precision 4x Scope Blueprint now has approximately a 10% chance to drop from weapon merchants instead of whatever the previous rate was, though the notes don't state what that was before, so it's hard to judge whether this is a genuine improvement or a minor adjustment.
The mission requirement update for the Generator and Radio Antenna objective is a small quality-of-life clarification. Previously, the game apparently required a specific pairing; now any generator and antenna combination works. This removes friction for players who had the wrong types and needed to rebuild, though the note that players who haven't completed this mission will need to reconnect the devices suggests the fix only applies going forward, not retroactively to existing setups.
What's absent here is as telling as what arrived. No balance changes, no new content beyond two lore records, and no mention of any outstanding issues from 0.8.40. This is a maintenance patch dressed up as an update. Necessary work, but not the kind that shifts how anyone plays.
