Sunkenland Main Branch Update v0.8.02 Patch Notes (27th June 2026)
Naval warfare arrives in Sunkenland. Hijack enemy ships, customize them with weapons and armor, and take the fight to hostile factions across the seas.

Naval combat is finally here. Update v0.8.02 brings ship-based warfare to Sunkenland, letting you hunt down enemy vessels, board them, and claim them as your own. You can sink ships outright or hijack them intact, then outfit them with heavy machine guns, autocannons, and artillery. Different ship components take damage independently (hull, wheelhouse, engine, weapons), which means tactical boarding and targeted strikes actually matter.
Beyond naval combat, the update adds 15 main quests and 5 side quests that chart a full story arc from arrival to defeating the factions holding Sunkenland. You're getting new traders scattered across islands, base defense weapons like Molotov launchers and explosive bolt launchers, and a Ship Repair Platform so you're not manually hammering hull damage back together. There's also an Electric Drill for faster ore mining, a Resource Recycler that auto-gathers materials, and new brick structures for base building.
The studio is strongly recommending fresh saves, the extensive changes can break older worlds. Check what's actually changed in the full notes below.

Before You Jump In
This update is now live on the main branch and introduces a large number of new features, improvements, and world changes.
We strongly recommend starting a new world with a new save to experience the update as intended. While older saves may still load, the extensive changes in this version can lead to compatibility issues, missing content, or unexpected behavior.
Starting fresh will ensure you have the best possible experience with everything this update has to offer.
Naval Combat System
In this update, we've added a ship-based naval combat system. While sailing the seas, you'll encounter vessels from various hostile factions, ranging from small armed fishing boats to larger armored gunboats.
You can sink them outright, or board and hijack them to claim the ship as your own. Different parts of a ship can be damaged independently, such as the hull, the wheelhouse, the engine, and the weapon systems, for a more realistic damage model.
You can also disable a vessel by killing its crew and pilot. Of course, crewing a large ship solo is pretty exhausting; handling navigation, weapons, and repairs all at once is a lot for one person. Naval battles are far more fun with a few friends along for the ride.
Ship Modification
Ships you've hijacked can be driven and customized. Through the ship modification interface, you can upgrade a vessel's various components and mount weapons. For example, add-on armor plating, sandbags, engines, artillery, autocannons, automated turrets, and more.
Various Ship-Mounted Weapons
Including heavy machine guns, autocannons, and artillery.
Each weapon has its own characteristics: heavy machine guns have a high rate of fire, making them well suited for taking out enemy personnel but relatively weak at penetrating armor; autocannons deal small-radius explosive damage that can kill personnel and break apart ship structures; and artillery is powerful and far more effective against ship armor, though it fires slowly.
You can equip your ship with different weapons to match your own preferences.
Base Defense Weapons
We've added a series of base defense weapons. For example, a Molotov launcher, an explosive barrel launcher, and an explosive bolt launcher. Each weapon fires its own type of ammunition. These base defense weapons dramatically strengthen your base's defensive capabilities.
Ship Repair
You can repair damaged hull parts with the same repair hammer or spot welder you'd normally use for your house. But that's slow and labor-intensive. You can also build a Ship Repair Platform to repair vessels automatically; just park your ship within its range.
New Locations
Enemy Stronghold Heavy Firepower
Some higher-level enemy factions, such as the Slavers and the Warheads, use heavy weapons like heavy machine guns to defend their territory. Be careful when you approach them. And the best way to defeat them? Bring your own armed boats with heavy weapons mounted.
Mission System
Added 15 main quests and 5 side quests.
These introduce the full Sunkenlander journey: from first arriving in the Sunkenland to ultimately defeating the evil forces that hold it. Step by step, you'll get familiar with the most basic game mechanics, then head out to sea to expand your territory, facing various enemy factions such as pirates and slavers.
New Items
Aquarium: A place to display the ornamental fish you've collected, where they'll swim around freely. You can also plant red algae along the bottom. Obtained at the Amusement Park. Displayable fish can be caught out in the ocean.
Electric Drill: Powered by batteries, used to mine ore faster.
Resource Recycler: Runs on electricity. Obtain its blueprint through a side mission. It can automatically gather resources based on your selection.
Record Player: Unlocked in the Mansion. We've added playback functionality to the record player — players can unlock songs by finding records inside wardrobes at various locations.
Radio Antenna: Receives radio signals to unlock new missions; it's how you hear from others across the Sunkenland.
New decoration items: added many new decoration items, including vases and flower pots.
Added brick base structures, including brick walls, roofs, and foundations. You'll need to learn the blueprint first, and you'll need bricks to build it. Bricks can be made from clay, which is gathered along the coasts of certain islands.
New Traders
Added multiple traders spread across different islands. For example, the Big Bridge and Eden Island. Each trader specializes in different goods, from rare flowers and ornamental fish to antique furniture, rare fish, and gun parts, giving you new ways to spend your salvage and personalize your base.
