StarRupture's Update 1 Public Test Branch just received its first hotfix, tweaking base-building economy and progression unlock requirements across the board.

StarRupture's Update 1 Public Test Branch has its first hotfix live on Steam today, and it's doing exactly what you'd expect from an early PTB pass: tightening up the numbers before they go anywhere near the main branch.

The bulk of the changes hit base-building economy. Build costs for Power Generators, Ziplines, Drone Rails, and Teleporters have all been adjusted, and the energy consumption and Base Core cooling values for v.2 Buildings have been rebalanced alongside them. If you've been running a base on the PTB and something felt off about your power budget, this is likely why. The Scanner unlock requirements have also been changed, and the Recipe Station unlock chain for both the Constructorizer and Facturer has been reworked, so your progression path through the tech tree will look a little different from here.

None of this is dramatic, but that's the point of a PTB hotfix. The developers are iterating quickly, which is the right approach when you're asking players to stress-test systems before a full release. Credit where it's due for keeping the updates moving. Hotfix 1 for the Public Test Branch of StarRupture Update 1 is now available on Steam.

  • Adjusted build cost of Power Generators, Zipline, Drone Rails, and Teleport
  • Adjusted energy consumption and Base Core cooling for v.2 Buildings
  • Adjusted energy production and Base Core cooling for Power Generators
  • Changed requirements needed for unlocking Scanner
  • Changed requirements needed for unlocking new recipes inside Recipe Station for Constructorizer and Facturer
  • Changed the name of Radial Rail Connector to Roundabout Rail Connector to better reflect its functionality

  • Fixed a crash that might occur for some players joining a co-op session
  • Fixed a crash that might occur for some players while building Mega Press, Cargo Receiver or Cargo Dispatcher
  • Fixed an issue that might cause the player's previous save states not to show on the save screen while hosting a 4-player co-op session
  • Fixed an issue where the second door to the Forgotten Engine incorrectly displays a 'no power' message, even after a Power Cell was already inserted into the main entry terminal
  • Fixed players taking too much fall damage after falling off the Zipline
  • Fixed the constant display of the infolog for unlocking the Solar Generator v.2 in the Upgrade Station
  • Fixed an issue where Clients could not select items in Orbital Cargo Launcher for Griffits and Clever Corporations on saves created before Update 1 Public Test Branch
  • Fixed the Engineer character falling from the Zipline on sharp turns or when passing the Zipline Poles
  • Habitats built prior to unlocking the Development Station now correctly contribute to Large Habitat requirements
  • Unlocking all recipes for Constructorizer should now properly pass one of the requirements of unlocking Constructorizer v.2 inside the Development Station
  • Unlocking all recipes for Furnace should now properly pass one of the requirements of unlocking Furnace v.2 inside the Development Station
  • Fixed the inability to insert some Items to unlock selected new recipes in Recipe Station
  • Fixed an inconsistency between unlocking the Supermagnet inside Recipe Station and its production inside the Furnace
  • Fixed incorrect experience values of the characters' skills upon loading a game save from another player
  • The Recipe Table now correctly displays the amounts of items added to recipes
  • Fixed multiple Buildings descriptions
  • Fixed multiple Products descriptions
  • Fixed Update 1 Welcome Screen translations
