
Space Engineers Hotfix 1.209.022 Patch Notes (7th May 2026)
Keen Software House has pushed a hotfix for Space Engineers, targeting crashes and a batch of Economy 2 bugs introduced with last week's major update.
Three days after the Economy 2 update landed, Keen Software House has pushed Hotfix 1.209.022 to address the rougher edges. Five separate crashes are patched here, including one that fired when the game failed to download DLC banners on Steam and another triggered by admins deleting the target grid of an active PvE Bounty contract. That last one in particular was causing real headaches on multiplayer servers.
The functional fixes are where the bulk of the work sits. Grid Hauling contracts were broken in a few different ways: duration wasn't scaling with delivery distance, encounter-triggered contracts weren't making encounters persistent, and Wrecked Corvette and Damaged Assembly Barge targets were spawning as stations instead of ships. Economy station prefabs also had issues, with some beacon radii set absurdly high and Refill stations on stations 11 and 14 not connected to the conveyor system at all. The pressurisation leak on Centered Half Glass Doors is fixed too, which anyone running a tight atmospheric build will be relieved to hear.
For a hotfix, this covers a lot of ground, and I'd rather see Keen move quickly on post-launch stability than let these pile up. Everything in the update is listed below.

Stability
- Fixed a crash when failing to download the DLC banners (Steam platform only fix)
- Fixed a crash when trying to display DLC badges after skipping the main menu through launch option arguments
- Fixed a crash when a (modded) contract referenced an icon which did not exist
- Fixed a crash when the selected UI item for a grid deposit action did not exist
- Fixed a crash when an admin deleted a target grid of an active PvE Bounty contract
Functional
- Fixed an issue where a Grid Hauling contract triggering from Character proximity to an encounter did not make the encounter persistent
- Fixed an issue where the Centered (Half|Glass|Half Glass) Doors were not set up properly for pressurisation, causing leaks
- Fixed an issue where some of the Economy station prefabs had their beacon broadcast radius set to more than 10km
- Fixed an issue where a previously deleted contract Drop-off point GPS belonging to Client A was recreated for Client B when reaching the same station
- Fixed an issue where a Grid Hauling contract triggered from an encounter was not scaling its duration with distance to the delivery site
- Fixed an issue where the Economy station 14 prefab and its pirate variant did not have their Refill station connected to the conveyor system
- Fixed an issue where the Economy station 11 prefab did not have its Refill station LCD set to the proper image
- Fixed an issue where the Grid Hauling contract targets of Wrecked Corvette and Damaged Assembly Barge spawned as stations
UI
- Fixed an issue where the new NPCs appeared as a choice in the character Customize screen
