PEAK BETA branch Patch 1.61.b Notes (16th April 2026)
PEAK's latest beta patch tackles a rope performance bug, restores cold nights to Ascent 5+, and cleans up a handful of reconnection and custom run issues.
Cold nights are back in Ascent 5+ after BETA branch Patch 1.61.b landed on PEAK's beta branch today. If you've been breezing through late-game climbs without the temperature penalty, that particular free ride is over.
The most impactful fix here is probably the rope hitching issue. If your squad was placing a lot of ropes in a single biome, the game was grinding to a halt, and that's a serious problem in a co-op climbing game where ropes are half your toolkit. Beyond that, a few reconnection edge cases have been ironed out: players dropping back into the Kiln after a Caldera disconnect will now respawn dead unless a revive statue was used, and a separate bug that was preventing reconnecting players from spawning their scout at all has been squashed.
Custom runs also get some housekeeping. Guidebook pages no longer spawn in them, and multi-run achievement progress won't accumulate there either, which keeps the mode honest. Small stuff, but the kind of consistency fixes that stop custom runs from feeling like an unintended exploit route. The complete notes are below.
