Overwatch 2's Season 3, Reign of Talon: Into The Tiger's Den, is live as of June 16th, bringing a new Damage hero and the most substantial competitive play overhaul in months. Shion arrives as a fast, lethal addition to the roster, and she's backed by an ambitious three-week story event called Anima Strike that plays out across different Tokyo locations with branching paths and weekly-exclusive rewards.

The competitive changes matter more than the cosmetics here. The Roster system now lets you flag your preferred hero, which contributes negative votes during Hero Bans to prevent teammates from banning your main, but only if you're also voting strategically. More importantly, Lobby Bans introduce a 5th ban slot that can break the role limit, calculated by combining votes from both teams. This is designed to ban heroes that neither side wants to face, making the ban phase feel less like a coinflip and more like actual player preference. You can also watch live replays of Top 500 Challenger matches now, streamed with a delay to prevent cheating.

Hero perks continue getting tuned across the roster, with D.Va, Domina, Doomfist, and Hazard all seeing adjustments to bring outlier picks back in line.
