Overwatch 2 (Legacy) Patch Notes (17th April 2026)
A quick balance hotfix lands for Overwatch 2 Legacy, targeting new damage hero Sierra just days after her Season 2 debut.
Three days after Sierra dropped in Season 2: Summit, Blizzard has already pushed a balance hotfix to course-correct her numbers. The April 17 patch is a targeted pass on the new damage hero, with a few changes that should shift how she plays.
Her Helix Rifle and Tracking Shot both jump from 7 to 9 damage per projectile, which is a bigger deal than it sounds on paper. More damage per shot means faster eliminations and more pressure in duels, and the Tracking Shot buff specifically rewards players who are actually landing their shots rather than spraying. Her Anchor Drone also gets a substantial health increase from 30 to 80, making it far less of a throwaway tool in aggressive plays. To keep things in check, her Trailblazer ultimate cost goes up 30%, which feels like a fair trade given she was apparently charging it at a pace the team didn't intend.
I'd say Sierra was clearly undertuned at launch if Blizzard felt the need to hotfix her this quickly, but at least the response was fast. Replay codes from the April 14 patch remain valid. Full patch notes below.
