Warhorse and Paradox team up for a small but charming crossover, dropping a new book into KCD2's medieval world.

Not every patch rewrites the meta. Sometimes it just drops a book.

Patch 1.5.5, released today, is a focused crossover update between Warhorse Studios and Paradox Interactive. The sole addition is Three Crusader Kings, a new in-game book tied to the Crusader Kings III collaboration, which can be found scattered across locations in Trosky and Kuttenberg. Paradox is running the crossover in both directions, so expect KCD2-themed content to show up in CKIII as well.

It's a small update, no question, but I don't mind this kind of thing when it fits the world. A lore-friendly book slotted into medieval Bohemia is a far less intrusive crossover than, say, a neon cosmetic skin. Whether it's actually worth hunting down will depend on how much effort Warhorse put into the writing. Given the studio's track record with in-world text, I'm cautiously curious.

The complete notes are below.

We have released a small update in collaboration with Paradox and Crusader Kings III.

Three Crusader Kings

Added the book Three Crusader Kings as part of a collaboration with Crusader Kings III, by Paradox. It can be found in various locations around Trosky and Kuttenberg.

Look out for KCD2 themed additions in Crusader Kings III.
