Farever Patch Notes: Weapon Scaling Overhaul (29th July 2026)
A substantial bugfix patch that finally makes weapon scaling consistent and restores summon viability, but leaves several known systems still broken.

Version 0.2.3.28751 lands as a consolidation patch: the headline change rewrites how weapon base attacks scale to character attributes, but the real work here is undoing a backlog of broken systems that should never have shipped broken in the first place. This is less a balance pass and more a correction of what was already supposed to work.
The weapon scaling change is the structural fix. Previously, base attacks across the arsenal scaled inconsistently or not at all to primary attributes. Now spears like Lady Bee's Ceremonial Stinger scale properly to Strength and Intellect, whilst daggers like Gorgon Ratsar's Toothpick scale to Dexterity and Faith. This matters because it means your attribute choices now actually drive your damage output in a predictable way. A player who invested in Strength builds around weapons that reward Strength; a Dexterity build no longer wastes points on a weapon that ignores them. It's a foundation-level fix that should have been there at launch, but its absence explains why certain attribute combinations felt dead.
Summons are back in the game. The patch fixes summons not dealing damage and not being affected by the player's critical chance, which means summon-focused builds were essentially non-functional until now. This is not a balance adjustment; this is restoring a mechanic to the state it was supposed to be in. Any player who tried to build around summons in the last patch was playing a broken class.
The bugfix list is long and specific. Oxygen spots no longer get consumed by only one player (a multiplayer nightmare). Training Manuals no longer vanish when used from hotbar shortcuts. The Gorgon's Hollow Golem actually jumps now. Dungeons now grant Spark Shards as they should. The Minor Alchemist Cauldron no longer gets overridden by potions. Fervor no longer incorrectly reduces fall damage or applies to consumables. These are not balance tweaks; they are systems that were broken and are now fixed. A player returning to Farever will find the game substantially more stable than it was.
What remains unaddressed is telling. Munster Chunk still does not work correctly. Mob pathing issues persist. The Codex is missing descriptions for some mobs. These known issues sit in the patch notes themselves, which means the team is aware but did not prioritise them this cycle. For players relying on these systems, this patch does not solve their problem.
The UI improvements at level 20 and the new Training Manual interface are quality-of-life additions, but they sit alongside fixes that should have been in place weeks ago. This patch reads as cleanup: restoring broken core systems, making attribute scaling coherent, and bringing summons back to life. Whether Farever needed a balance pass or a stability pass, it got the latter.
