Farever Major Update #1 - The Nightling invasion Notes (15th July 2026)

The Rifts arrive as Farever's first major world event, alongside a new region and level cap. Here's what changed.

Farever's first major content drop lands with the Nightlings and Crimson Rams in tow. The Nightling invasion update introduces the Rifts, a new hourly world event where groups of a dozen players defend against waves of Nightlings across multiple gates before facing a boss. Close more gates, earn better rewards, and the currency to buy unique gear and demonic upgrades from a new NPC, the Demon Hunter.

You've also got the City of Ramburg to explore, a stronghold controlled by the Crimson Rams. It houses two instances (the Crimson Barracks and a fight against the High Inquisitor Chakram), secret orbs to collect, and new activities scattered throughout. The level cap jumps to 25, and hard-mode dungeons have been tuned accordingly.

Beyond content, this patch tackles performance with DLSS support, reduced visual effects in crowded areas, and client-server optimisation. Quality-of-life additions include helmet and gear hiding, a spectator camera for dead players in group dungeons, and a weapon upgrade UI that shows your current resources. Weapon balancing touches several skills. Horn of the Wind, Ramulus & Ramus, and Queen's Decree among them, plus fixes for boss encounters like Golcano and Queen Honeyzabeth. The full patch includes fixes for the Mage's High Voltage talent, which now guarantees a critical strike on your next Final Combo Attack after consuming Chaincast.

Buff Nerf Fix Tweak

Take on the Nightlings and the Crimson Rams in the first major content update for Farever. Currently available at 20% off its original price !

This update features new world events, the Rifts, and a new region. This update allows you to level up to 25 and discover new weapons to try out!


New Events - The Rifts

Face the Nightlings in their own realms by taking part in the first of many world events: the Rifts!

Every hour, a nightling rift open in Skover or the Valley of the Eternal Autumn. It's up to you to enter the rifts and kicks the nightling before the reach Siagarta.

In the rift, a group of a dozen players (you included) can fight against nighlings and nightlords coming from multiple gates. You win by beating those foes and closing said gates until their boss comes in.

The more gates you close, the better the reward will be!

Depending on how well you did in closing the Nightling gates, you'll have more unique currency that can be used with a new NPC: The Demon Hunter. With that currency, you can buy new unique set of gears, weapons, spark crystals and brand new demonic upgrades

New Region - The City of Ramburg

You now have access to the stronghold of the Crimson Rams: the city of Ramburg. This region hides many secrets that you can uncover by exploring it and facing its master, the High Inquisitor Chakram.

In Ramburg, you will find many new activities, as well as two instances: There are the Crimson Barracks and the boss fight against Chakram itself! You can also collect new secret orbs and make new friends while exploring the Crimson Cathedral and the lower city.

And a lot more!

That’s not all! This update comes with:

  • 50+ New collectibles
  • New recipes for all jobs
  • New weapons
  • Martyr of Enripit and the Censer of the Wool Hollow can be claimed in instances
  • New demonic weapons can be obtained at the Demon Hunter against Rift currency
  • A new level cap
    • You can now reach level 25, and the hard mode for dungeons has been adjusted to this level.
  • Quality of Life
    • You can now hide your helmets, as well as any other piece of equipment
    • You now have a "spectator cam" if killed during a boss fight
  • More work on performance
    • A lot of optimization work has been carried out, especially with regard to VFX affecting performance.

    Known Issues

    • Items - Trinket "Finger of Sakuna’Maatata" and "Purified Heart" incorrectly display the damage/healing amounts they grant (but they work)
    • Achievements - Some may not trigger as expected
    • Assets - Some fountains may not be displayed
    • Microsoft - Smart App control is flagging Farever incorrectly. Check on your computer to bypass it.
    • Linux/Steamdeck - Proton version under Proton 10 no longer supported, be sure to update it
    • Missing some localization

    Many of you provided valuable feedback during the Playable Preview, which helped to shape the Rifts we see today. Thank you for taking part!

    We hope you enjoy this new feature and the change of pace it brings to the current game loop. We’ll continue to add more experiences like this alongside new content and performance improvements as we work towards version 1.0.

    Over the next few weeks, we’ll focus on hotfixes before moving on to our next update and adding more difficulty to the current dungeons. We’re also working on requested features such as better location tools (e.g. a compass) and more social and communication features, which will be added later this year!
