Destiny 2 This Week in Destiny Patch Notes (16th April 2026)
Iron Banner returns, Guardian Games Community Challenges continue, and Update 9.5.6.2 is live in Destiny 2.
Iron Banner is back. Lord Saladin has returned to the Tower courtyard, and Guardians are currently fighting it out across Control and Eruption for the usual mix of glory and loot. If you've been sleeping on Eruption, this is a decent time to learn it, the mode's high-stakes revive mechanics make for a more interesting Crucible experience than standard Control, and Iron Banner rewards are worth the grind.
Alongside the PvP festivities, Bungie has also dropped the second round of Guardian Games Community Challenge selections for the Golden Age emblem, so if you've been chipping away at those objectives, check your progress. The This Week in Destiny post also covers this weekend's rotating modes alongside the full Update 9.5.6.2 patch notes. It's a lighter week on the patch side, but the Iron Banner timing gives most players plenty to focus on regardless.
