Deltarune Chapter 5 Hotfix Patch (Chapter 5 0.0.241) (25th June 2026)
Toby Fox's quick hotfix tackles softlocks during boss fights, crashes with enemy spawns, and a game-breaking save exploit.
Toby Fox has rolled out version 0.0.241 to patch several critical issues that emerged after Chapter 5's launch yesterday. The update focuses on softlocks and crashes that could completely halt your playthrough, plus a nasty save file corruption bug.
The most disruptive fixes target boss encounters: one softlock would trigger during the final boss when the music slows down and you attempt to flirt, while another froze the game when pressing Z and X simultaneously near a disappearing fox. Candy collection from green enemies and knife spawns from aqua enemies were also crashing the game outright. There's also a fix for a bizarre issue where Kris could become gigantic and unplayable if you'd modified your save in a previous chapter.
One interesting addition: the last boss now gradually becomes easier if you lose excessively in a single session, which sounds like a mercy measure for frustrated players. Check your version number on the file select screen to confirm you're running 0.0.241.

We have released a quick update to fix a few issues with the game.
You can confirm the chapter version number on the bottom right of the file select screen.
DELTARUNE Chapter 5 Version 0.0.241 for PC/Mac
- Fixed an issue where, towards the end of a boss, when the music becomes slow, flirting would softlock the game.
- Fixed a softlock when pressing Z&X simultaneously when interacting with a disappearing fox. Also fixed another bug in the same scenario.
- Fixed a crash when knives spawn from an aqua-colored enemy, and after said enemy is defeated.
- Fixed a crash when collecting candy from a green-colored enemy.
- Fixed a situation where Kris could be gigantic and the game was unplayable if you had modified your save file in a previous Chapter.
- The last boss of the chapter becomes gradually easier after losing an excessive amount of times in one play session.
