CS2 Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (29th May 2026)

A small but tidy CS2 update lands overnight, cleaning up Ancient's boost locations and adding quality-of-life improvements for the Cologne 2026 Shop.

Not every update needs to move mountains. The May 29 CS2 patch is a focused one, but a couple of changes are worth knowing about if you play regularly.

The most practical addition for competitive players is the clipping update on Ancient, which closes off certain boost positions. Valve doesn't name them specifically, but if you've been on the receiving end of an off-angle peek that felt wrong, there's a decent chance this addresses it. Sanctum also gets an update to its latest Steam Workshop version. On the spectator side, there's a new convar, r_spectator_flashbang_opacity, letting tournament organizers and broadcast setups control how intense the flashbang effect appears for remote viewers. The flashbang effect now also renders underneath the HUD rather than over it, which is a small but sensible fix for anyone watching a match.

For Cologne 2026, you can now bookmark stickers in the shop, which should save some scrolling if you're hunting specific capsule stickers. Small convenience feature, but appreciated. Here's everything that changed.
