Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (20th July 2026)

Counter-Strike 2 received a patch update today with a handful of gameplay refinements and map refreshes. The most tangible change for competitive play is the bomb damage health preview now revealing itself when the bomb becomes audible, giving defenders better information on when they're in danger and how much punishment they can actually take. That's a quality-of-life win that tightens the feedback loop without breaking the game's economy tension.

The bomb explosion now interacts with smoke grenade clouds and molotov/incendiary fire, which means utility placement matters more in post-plant scenarios. A well-timed smoke can no longer just sit there passively; it'll now react to the blast, opening up new tactical layers for both sides.

Three community workshop maps have been bumped to their latest versions: Fachwerk, Boulder, and Debris all receive updates. On the backend, Steam China now gets a dedicated Workshop maps section in the Play menu and a shortcut to Community Servers, expanding access to custom content for the region.
