Brighter Shores Pickaxe Resonators Patch Notes (16th April 2026)
Brighter Shores adds pickaxe resonators to the brambles of Hopeforest, bringing a new layer of depth to mining across all four Mine of Mantuban professions.
Today's Brighter Shores update centres on pickaxe resonators, a new mechanic that slots neatly into the game's mining loop. Resonators grow on brambles in Hopeforest and require the appropriate woodcutter level to harvest, then attach to your pickaxe and tie to a specific ore or rock type. Mining with one active gives a 5% chance of finding a geode, and cracking a geode open rewards XP in one of the four Mine of Mantuban professions: Blacksmith, Bonewright, Miner, or Stonemason. It's a modest but satisfying addition that gives mining a small but real reason to pay attention to what you're swinging at.
On the quality-of-life side, the storage rift spell now has a 'Deposit All' option, which feels long overdue, and botanist cards will finally tell you what an item is actually used for. There's also a small but appreciated rabbit relocation that removes a quest gate for players trying to catch every rabbit in the game.
One note for anyone watching the roadmap: Fractured Reality and Bonewright Bounties have been swapped in the launch schedule, with the developers citing a need for two more weeks of polish on Fractured Reality. I'd rather they take the time than ship it rough. The complete notes are below.
Full Patch Notes
Pickaxe resonators can now be found growing on the brambles in Hopeforest. To be able to chop out a resonator, you will need the appropriate woodcutter level for the bramble it is attached to.
Resonators are attached to your pickaxe, and each resonator corresponds to one kind of ore or rock. There is no resonator for deathstone, as deathstone is not mined with a pickaxe. Mining with a resonator gives you a 5% chance of finding a geode.
There are four kinds of geode, one for each of the Mine of Mantuban professions - Blacksmith, Bonewright, Miner and Stonemason. Breaking open a geode will give XP in the corresponding profession. It is random which geode you will find, and there is also a small chance of finding a sparkly geode which gives more XP when broken open.
Quality of life improvements
• Add a 'Deposit All' option to the storage rift spell in the spells interface.
• Botanist cards now show the purpose of the item you get.
• Move a rabbit from Fillan's Bedroom to Prison Entrance, so you no longer need to make any progress in the Crenopolis main quest to be able to catch all the rabbits.
Bug fixes
• Fix lobster and oyster ventures to use the correct equipment icon.
• Fix various typos.
Launch schedule changes
If you look at the 'What we are currently working on' interface, you will see that we have decided to swap Fractured Reality and Bonewright Bounties in the launch schedule. While we know this delay will be disappointing for many of you, we think Fractured Reality needs those extra two weeks of polishing to be ready.
