Brighter Shores Delectable Dab Pantry Patch Notes (3rd August 2026)
The Delectable Dab Kitchen's bare pantry now has a solution. Completing the Battle of Fortunehold quest unlocks ingredient contracts tied to Merchant milestones.

The Delectable Dab Kitchen's pantry problem finally has an answer, though it requires players to push through the Battle of Fortunehold quest first. Once that gate is cleared, Porletta at Fortunehold Farm becomes the source for pantry contracts, which unlock progressively as players reach each Merchant milestone starting at milestone 1. This ties a cosmetic or ambient gameplay element directly to profession progression, meaning the pantry's state now reflects how far you've advanced in Merchant rather than remaining a static complaint about Kevin's laziness.
The practical consequence here is that players who haven't yet fought the Battle of Fortunehold will still see an empty pantry, and those who have will unlock contracts one at a time as they grind Merchant milestones. The patch notes don't specify what stocking the pantry actually does, whether it's purely visual flavour or whether it unlocks new recipes, buffs, or other mechanical rewards. That gap matters, because it determines whether this is a cosmetic closure to a long-standing narrative complaint or a functional unlock that changes how players interact with the Kitchen.
Two smaller fixes address friction that likely accumulated across multiple play sessions. The potion-drinking bug that forced players out of their chosen defense stance was a silent annoyance, especially for 2-handed weapon users who would briefly lose their stance bonus mid-combat just to heal. Fixing that removes a layer of micromanagement nobody asked for. The 'Abandon bounty' confirmation is gentler quality-of-life work, preventing accidental quest cancellations that could waste time or reset progress.
The Timber Bank relocation is the patch's most cryptic note. Moving it slightly closer suggests the developers are reshaping Crenopolis's geography, possibly to prepare for new content or to improve navigation flow. Burying this under "Don't worry it isn't further away" reads like a preemptive reassurance against complaints, which implies the team anticipated players noticing and caring about the change. That level of attention to spatial detail suggests upcoming additions to that area, though the patch offers no confirmation.
What remains unclear is whether the pantry contracts are mandatory to progress the main storyline or purely optional flavour. If they're required, Merchant becomes a gating profession for players who want to see the Kitchen fully restored. If they're optional, the pantry becomes a long-term cosmetic goal for Merchant-focused players. The patch notes don't clarify, leaving players to discover whether this is a story beat or a side pursuit.
Full Patch Notes
Ever since the storm rolled into Hopeport, the pantry in the Delectable Dab Kitchen has been bare. The head chef has tried to persuade Kevin to help out but, unsurprisingly, Kevin is very happy with the current situation. Perhaps someone over at Fortunehold Farm on the outskirts of Crenopolis might be willing to stock the pantry?
After completing the Battle of Fortunehold quest, you can talk to Porletta at Fortunehold Farm to unlock pantry contracts and stock the pantry with ingredients. There is one contract available at each milestone of Merchant, starting at milestone1.
You can find more information on pantry contracts in the Merchant profession interface.
Quality of life improvements
• 'Abandon bounty' now confirms you actually want to abandon the bounty.
Bug fixes
• Drinking a potion while in combat no longer changes your defense stance. This means if you are using using a 2-handed weapon, you will stay in the 2-handed defense stance while drinking a potion, instead of briefly switching to the 1-handed defense stance.
Balancing changes
• We have moved the position of the Timber Bank slightly. This is in preparation for an upcoming update. Don't worry it isn't further away (it's actually slightly nearer).
