Apex Legends: Latest Update Patch Notes (6th May 2026)

Respawn's latest Apex Legends patch kills Axle's infinite slide exploit and pulls Xbox voice comms while a crash investigation is underway.

Small patch this time, but one fix in particular will matter to anyone who's been on the wrong end of it. Respawn has pushed a new update for Apex Legends that closes off an exploit tied to Axle's movement, where players could trigger an indefinite slide and essentially glide around the map without stopping. Competitive integrity patches like this don't always get fanfare, but an unchecked movement exploit in a BR can quietly warp lobbies, so getting it out fast is the right call.

The bigger concern right now is on the Xbox side. According to the official patch notes, Respawn has temporarily disabled voice comms for Xbox players across all platforms while they investigate a crash linked to the feature. That means Xbox players can't hear or speak to teammates regardless of platform until further notice, which is a rough situation for anyone trying to coordinate in ranked. Respawn says they'll provide updates as they become available.

There's also an ongoing FPS drop investigation, suspected to be tied to specific CPUs, though no fix has shipped for that yet. The complete notes are below.

Full Patch Notes

✅FIXED:

- We resolved an issue where players were able to exploit Axle's movement, resulting in an indefinite slide

⚠️INVESTIGATING:

- We are temporarily disabling voice comms for players on Xbox systems to investigate their contribution to a game crash. Xbox players will not be able to hear or speak to other players, regardless of platform.

- We are also investigating a recent issue resulting in FPS drops, likely tied to specific CPUs.

We will provide updates as they become available to us!
