The Decrease in Palworld Players on Steam Shouldn't Concern You

Palworld, the game that took the gaming world by storm when it launched in January, has seen a sharp decline in its player base in just a matter of months. From being the second-most-played game on Steam with over 2.1 million players, the game has now lost a staggering 97% of its peak player count according to SteamDB.

Since the beginning of March, Palworld has been losing thousands of players every day, with the current 24-hour peak standing at just 69,850 players. While this decline may seem alarming, it was somewhat expected after the initial hype surrounding the game.

It's essential to note that Palworld is not a live service game, so players do not have to log in daily to keep up with the game's content. Developer Pocketpair has also reassured the community by releasing a comprehensive roadmap outlining upcoming features such as PvP, Raid Bosses, a Pal Arena, crossplay capabilities, new Pals, and more.

Despite the decline in player numbers, it is anticipated that as Pocketpair continues to roll out updates and new content, players will gradually return to Palworld or give it a try for the first time. The focus now shifts to when the player base will bounce back, rather than if it will.
