The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account has just announced that a free trial is on its way to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. This thrilling news has sent waves of excitement throughout the gaming community.

Starting on March 28th at 8 AM Pacific Time, players will have the opportunity to dive into the immersive world of Cyberpunk 2077 for a limited time. The free trial will run until March 31st at 11:59 PM Pacific, giving gamers a taste of what this futuristic RPG has to offer.

While console players are in for a treat, unfortunately, PC gamers will not be able to join in on the free trial experience this time around. It seems that CD Projekt Red has decided to focus on the console audience for this trial, leaving PC players eagerly waiting for their turn.

The Cyberpunk 2077 trial on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will provide 5 hours of playtime for the base game, completely free of charge and without the need for a subscription. However, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can enjoy an additional 5 hours of gameplay, giving them a head start in exploring Night City.

While PC players may feel left out, it's important to note that a similar trial was released in 2022, also excluding the platform. This suggests that a free trial for PC may not be in the cards for the future. The previous trial in 2022 was specifically tailored as a "next gen" experience, providing some context for the platform omission.

Speculation is rife as to whether this week's free trial is a prelude to a major announcement from Cyberpunk 2077. The game's last major update was rolled out in December 2023, but rumors about a sequel are starting to heat up.

In a recent interview, developers hinted at the possibility of adding multiplayer elements to the Cyberpunk sequel, sparking excitement among fans. Job listings for the next game, currently known as Orion, have also revealed some intriguing details, fueling anticipation for what's to come.
