Big news in the gaming world as Embracer Group has revealed its plans to divide into three separate companies, marking a significant change in its structure. This move, described as a "transformative step for value creation", will see the formation of Asmodee Group, Coffee Stain & Friends, and Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends as individual publicly listed entities, as stated in their press release.

The decision to split into three distinct entities comes after a period of restructuring within the company, which began last year. Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors will oversee this transition, forming a new long-term ownership structure while remaining an active and committed owner of all three companies.

For fans of Valheim, published by Coffee Stain, this split will mark a significant change as the game will no longer fall under the Embracer Group umbrella. Coffee Stain will continue its focus on indie and premium games, promising exciting releases across PC, consoles, and mobile platforms.

Asmodee, a leading tabletop games publisher, and distributor will maintain its global presence, while Middle-earth Enterprises will be a powerhouse in AAA game development and publishing, holding the IP rights for iconic franchises like Lord of the Rings and Tomb Raider.

Despite becoming separate entities, the new companies will still collaborate closely, ensuring that intellectual properties and talent within the group can be leveraged effectively. Embracer Group emphasizes that this restructuring is aimed at creating optimal conditions for future value creation for its shareholders.
