The gaming world was buzzing with excitement as the winners of the 24th annual Game Developers Choice Awards were announced. One game, in particular, stood out among the rest - Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Studios. This epic RPG based on Dungeons & Dragons took home the coveted Game of the Year prize, along with awards for Best Narrative, Best Design, and the Audience Award.
But Baldur's Gate 3 wasn't the only game that shone bright at the awards ceremony. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from Nintendo also emerged as a winner, scooping up awards for Innovation and Best Technology. Venba, the narrative cooking game by Visai Games, didn't disappoint either, winning the Best Debut and Social Impact Awards.

The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon the talented Japanese composer and pianist, Yoko Shimomura. Known for her remarkable work on games like Super Mario RPG, Kingdom Hearts, Street Fighter 2, and Final Fantasy XV, Shimomura's contribution to the gaming industry is truly unparalleled.
Fawzi Mesmar, the VP of global creative at Ubisoft, was honored with the Ambassador Award for his significant role in developing franchises such as Battlefield, Candy Crush, Mario + Rabbids, and Persona.
Speaking about the recognition received at the awards, Swen Vincke, CEO of Larian Studios and director of Baldur's Gate 3, expressed his gratitude:
"Congratulations to all the nominees and other winners! And thank you – it's a great honor to see our work recognized by your peers. You are all amazing and deserve recognition and respect for the love you pour in so players can enjoy themselves."
