Exciting news for fans of Larian Studios, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian Studios has recently confirmed that they are currently working on not just one, but two brand new games. While details about these projects are scarce at the moment, the studio has revealed that they are delving into developing their own intellectual properties.

For those hoping for a new installment in the Divinity franchise, it seems like Larian Studios will not be working on Baldur’s Gate 4. The beloved Baldur’s Gate series is now in the hands of Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, who told PCGamer that they are exploring the possibility of a sequel to Baldur’s Gate 3.

Instead, Larian Studios will be focusing on creating new worlds with their own IPs. Fans are speculating that one of the upcoming projects could potentially be Divinity III, a highly anticipated sequel given Larian's ownership of the franchise. Both games are still in the early stages of development, with more information promised in the near future.

CEO of Larian Studios, Swen Vincke, has expressed grand ambitions for their upcoming projects, hinting at a massive RPG that will surpass anything they have done before. This project may even push the boundaries of current-gen consoles, with reports suggesting that we may not see the PS6 until 2028.

Despite the focus on new endeavors, Baldur’s Gate 3 is not being left behind. The team is actively working on Update 7, which will introduce improved evil endings, bug fixes, and more. Future updates will bring Crossplay, a Photo Mode, and additional performance enhancements to the game.
