Tifa in Street Fighter 6? Leaker With Perfect Record Says Ye

The same Reddit user who nailed Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui's SF6 appearances now claims Final Fantasy VII's Tifa Lockhart is part of the Year 4 roster. Multiple sources appear to back it up.

Back in 2024, a Reddit user named RnK_Clan correctly called Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui joining Street Fighter 6's Year 2 Character Pass before Capcom made the announcement. Now that same user has surfaced again with a new claim: Final Fantasy VII's Tifa Lockhart is coming to SF6 as part of the Year 4 roster, alongside Vega, Gouken, and Final Fight's Mike Haggar.

The post appeared on the Street Fighter subreddit roughly a month ago and initially flew under the radar. It has since been removed after gaining wider attention, but the details were already circulating. According to RnK_Clan, Vega's inclusion is tied to the upcoming Street Fighter movie, which hits theaters on October 16, 2026. The other three slots go to Gouken, Haggar, and Tifa. If accurate, Tifa would be Street Fighter's first-ever guest character from outside the fighting game genre.

Why This One Feels Different

Leaks are cheap. Every fighting game subreddit is littered with roster predictions that never pan out. What separates this one is the source's track record. RnK_Clan didn't just predict one character for Year 2; they called the full lineup, including two guest fighters from Fatal Fury that nobody saw coming. A perfect hit on a prediction that specific isn't luck. It's either an extraordinary coincidence or access to real information, and I'm not inclined to bet on coincidence twice.

The claim is also picking up corroboration from other corners of the fighting game community. Rooflemonger, a well-known FGC YouTuber, commented that he'd heard about Tifa and Vega "quite some time ago" but was less certain about Gouken and Haggar. He speculated that Capcom may have seeded fake names to identify leakers, which is a tactic publishers have used before. A ResetEra user called LeytonWright, who reportedly has connections at Square Enix, separately backed up the Tifa claim as well.

That detail about potential fake names is interesting. Gouken and Haggar both have lore problems in SF6's timeline. There's a Mike Haggar Memorial Arena in the game's World Tour mode, which strongly implies the former Metro City mayor is dead. Gouken was already ancient during Street Fighter 4, and SF6 takes place even later. Neither is impossible to include, but both would require Capcom to either ignore or retcon its own canon. If two of the four names are decoys, those two are the obvious candidates.

Tifa, on the other hand, fits almost too well. Her martial arts moveset translates naturally to a 2D fighter. Capcom already proved with Terry and Mai that guest characters can work in SF6 without feeling like gimmicks. And the timing lines up neatly: Final Fantasy VII turns 30 next year, and there's persistent speculation about Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 being in the pipeline. A cross-promotion between Square Enix and Capcom around that anniversary makes business sense for both companies.

If this pans out, it would mark Tifa's first appearance in a fighting game since Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring in 1998. That's 27 years between fighting game appearances for a character whose entire identity revolves around punching things. I've always thought she was a more natural fit for a fighting game roster than Noctis or Clive, both of whom ended up in Tekken instead. Street Fighter getting her before Tekken did is going to sting for Bandai Namco's fanbase, which has been requesting Tifa for years while watching the series struggle through a rough patch with its recent seasonal updates.

Capcom hasn't announced anything official about Year 4's roster yet. With Ingrid still incoming as the final Year 3 character, a formal reveal is likely months away. But the strength of this leak, a source with a verified track record, independent corroboration from community figures, and logical timing around the FF7 anniversary, puts it well above the usual Reddit speculation. If Capcom does confirm Tifa at a future showcase, RnK_Clan will have gone two-for-two on full roster predictions, which would make them the most reliable Street Fighter leaker in recent memory.
