Take-Two's Delayed Earnings Call Sparks GTA 6 Trailer 3 Hype
Take-Two's Q4 earnings call has been pushed back a week from its usual window, and the GTA 6 community thinks it knows exactly why.
For years, Take-Two Interactive has announced its fourth quarter earnings between April 17-19 and reported them between May 15-17, almost always on a Thursday. This year, the announcement landed on April 23 with the call scheduled for May 21, pushing both windows back by roughly a week. On its own, a minor scheduling shift from a publicly traded company wouldn't warrant a second glance. But when you're the parent company of Rockstar Games and you're sitting on the most anticipated game release in years, nothing is minor.
The GTA 6 community has latched onto the delay as evidence that Trailer 3 could drop in the gap between the expected and actual earnings dates, likely sometime between mid-May and May 21. It's not a wild leap. Last year, GTA 6's second trailer arrived on May 6, 2025, just four days after Take-Two made a point of reiterating its expectations for record net bookings, and nine days before its Q4 report. A similar cadence this year would place a trailer reveal right in that newly opened window.
I think the pattern-matching here is more credible than the usual GTA 6 tea-leaf reading, which is a low bar, but still. Take-Two knows exactly how GTA 6 moves its stock price, and scheduling a major reveal before an investor call is basic corporate strategy. It gives Zelnick something concrete to point to when analysts ask about the marketing ramp.
Separately, the GTAVIOclock podcast said during their April 22 episode that they're "96%" confident the November 19 release date will hold, though they later clarified on X that they'd been "misquoted" by outlets reporting the date as fully locked in. "Only T2 / Rockstar 100% know if the game will hit Nov 19," they wrote, adding that they'd heard encouraging "whispers on the wind" but couldn't confirm anything outright.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has previously noted that a significant marketing push for GTA 6 is coming over the summer. If that's true, a Trailer 3 drop before the May 21 earnings call would be the logical starting gun.
