The Protect Our Games Act passed California's State Assembly 43-16, requiring publishers to give 60 days' notice before killing a game and either keep it playable or issue refunds.

The Entertainment Software Association is urging California lawmakers to kill a bill that would require publishers to preserve games or offer refunds, arguing the bill rests on the 'false premise' that consumers own their digital games.

Not a single Member of European Parliament spoke against the Stop Killing Games initiative during its first public hearing. The EU Commission now has until July to respond.
