Exciting news for Diablo 4 fans! NVIDIA has announced that the long-awaited Ray Tracing Update for Diablo 4 will be rolling out on March 26th. This update will bring ray-traced reflections and shadows to enhance the visual experience of the game.

In a video shared by NVIDIA earlier this year, the Ray Tracing effects were showcased, demonstrating the potential visual improvements that players can expect. While the effects may not drastically alter the core look and feel of the game, they are definitely a welcomed addition to enhance the overall graphics quality.

One of the positive aspects of this update is that Diablo 4 already supports DLSS technology, specifically DLSS 3 Frame Generation. This means that owners of RTX GPUs can take advantage of DLSS 2 and DLSS 3 (for those with RTX 40 series GPUs) to boost performance while experiencing the new Ray Tracing effects.

When Diablo 4 initially launched, it performed exceptionally well on PC, with even older GPUs like the NVIDIA GTX 980Ti delivering over 60fps at 1080p/Ultra settings. High-end GPUs like the RTX 4090 could achieve over 144fps at Native 4K/Ultra. This showcases the game's optimization and scalability, ensuring that players with powerful hardware can still enjoy smooth gameplay.

As we eagerly await the release of the Ray Tracing Update, gamers can look forward to performance tests and comparisons that will highlight the impact of the new effects.
