Windrose patch 0.10.0.8 landed today with a targeted fix for one of the game's most frustrating combat bugs: projectiles passing through ships without registering hits at long distances. That's the kind of invisible friction that can tank your confidence in a fight, so watching cannonballs actually connect when they should is a relief.

The patch also improves Japanese localisation, though the developers acknowledge one persistent issue remains. Front cannon volleys occasionally deal no damage despite clearly striking the hull, and that one's staying in the build for now. A fix is planned for a future update. It's not ideal, but the team's transparent about it.

This is a small, focused patch. The projectile detection fix should smooth out long-range engagements considerably, and that matters more than the changelog length suggests.

Patch Notes, version: 0.10.0.8

  • Fixed an issue where projectiles could pass through ships without registering hits at long distances.
  • Improved Japanese localization.
  • Known issue: A random bug may cause volleys fired from the front cannons to deal no damage, even when cannonballs clearly hit the ship’s hull. This will be fixed in a future update.
