Fatshark drops a small but focused hotfix for Vermintide 2, cleaning up weapon bugs from last week's balance patch and addressing a crash that required getting punched by a Chaos Warrior exactly ten times.

Three days after the 6.11.0 weapon balance update, Fatshark is back with a quick follow-up. Hotfix 6.11.1 landed today and it's mostly cleanup, but some of it matters if you've been running Elven Axe or War Pick builds.

The War Pick heavy attack fix is the one to know about. A bug introduced in 6.11.0 was actually suppressing crit damage against Armoured enemies on both charged and uncharged heavies, so the buff Fatshark intended to ship never landed properly. This patch fixes that and also corrects the Elven Axe's Push Attack damage and restores the ability for 1H Axe and Elven Axe to proc "On Charged Attack Hit" talents, which had quietly broken. The Griffonfoot also loses an unintended ammo buff that slipped through. Fatshark has acknowledged community concerns about the Longbow changes from 6.11.0 but says more testing is needed before they commit to a fix.

I'll give Fatshark credit for the patch note transparency here: a dev note flagging the Longbow situation directly is exactly the kind of communication that keeps players from feeling ignored. Full patch notes below.

Features & Tweaks

  • Elven Axe:
  • Increased Push Attack damage to the first target.
  • Increased minimum targets before minimum damage on Push attack by 1.
  • Increased the damage of Warpick Heavy attacks (charged and uncharged) on critical hits against Super Armoured enemies.

    Fixes

    • Fixed a crash on Steam authentication failure and implemented a feature to retry upon failure.
    • This should help with some connection issues.
  • Reverted unintended ammo buff to Griffonfoot.
  • Fixed a bug that caused War Pick heavies (both charged and uncharged) to deal lower damage to Armoured enemies on critical hits.
  • Fixed a crash when a Warrior Priest of Sigmar gets punched 10 times by a Chaos Warrior in the same game. No, really.
  • Fixed a bug causing the 1H Axe & Elven Axe not being able to proc "On Charged Attack Hit" talents.
  • Fixed a stuck spot in Skittergate, added failsafes for invincibility during the actual Skittergate section.

    Dev note: We have seen your concerns regarding the changes to the Longbow. We intend to adress this in a future patch, but we need to do some testing before committing to a solution.
