Total War: Warhammer III Crossplay Patch 7.2.1 Notes (21st April 2026)
Patch 7.2.1 for Total War: Warhammer III is a version number adjustment to keep crossplay in sync across platforms, nothing more, nothing less.

Not every patch rewrites the meta. Crossplay Patch 7.2.1 for Total War: Warhammer III, out today, is purely a version number bump to keep crossplay compatibility aligned across platforms. The Total War Team is upfront about it: no gameplay changes, no balance tweaks, nothing mechanically different from what you were playing yesterday.
The one thing to watch is mods. Because the version number has changed, your installed mods may flag as outdated in the launcher. Creative Assembly says they should still function normally, but if you start seeing performance or stability issues after the update downloads, disabling mods is the first troubleshooting step worth trying before heading to their support site.
I appreciate that the team shipped a note at all rather than silently bumping the version and leaving mod users confused. It's a small thing, but clear communication about even minor updates is exactly what studios should be doing. The complete notes are below.
Full Patch Notes
Hey folks,
Today's small update adjusts the version number to maintain crossplay compatibility with other platforms, and brings no changes to the game itself.
Please note that as a result of this version number change your mods may be tagged as outdated, but should continue to function as normal.
See you on the battlefield!
— The Total War Team
