Fully customisable key bindings have been one of the most requested features in Supermarket Simulator since launch, and Patch 1.3.0 dropping today finally delivers them. Keyboard and mouse players can now remap controls however they like. Gamepad binding isn't here yet, but the developers say they're actively working on it, so controller users aren't completely forgotten.

The other headliner is product selection inside crates. You can now pick specific items to place on shelves or throw away rather than dealing with the whole crate at once. For anyone who's spent time wrestling with disorganised stock, that's a quality-of-life improvement. On the fix side, a bug preventing money from going negative and triggering bankruptcy has been resolved, which is the sort of thing that quietly breaks a core game loop if left alone. Cleaning dirt and garbage also now correctly grants XP, restockers handle rack overflow better, and several multiplayer sync issues with crates and baker boxes have been sorted.

Not a flashy update, but a solid one. Full patch notes below.

Full Patch Notes

Hello Traders!

We’ve just released Patch 1.3.0, featuring "Key Binding", highly requested by our community, alongside various optimizations and a wide range of fixes and improvements to enhance your gameplay experience.

We’ll continue monitoring your feedback closely and work to resolve issues as quickly as possible.

New Feature: Key Binding

One of the most requested features is finally here!

You can now fully customize your keyboard and mouse controls with the new Key Binding system.

Due to technical limitations, gamepad key binding is not available yet, but we are actively looking into solutions to bring similar functionality to controller users in the future.

New Feature: Select Products in Crates

You can now select specific products inside crates to either throw away or place onto empty shelves, giving you more control while organizing your store.

Improvements & Additions:

  • Added key binding support for keyboard and mouse.
  • Added product selection for crates.
  • Worker NPCs can now use the nearest Trash Can furniture.
  • Updated background ambient sound effects.
  • Restockers now drop their boxes at their idle position if there is no available rack space before taking a new box.

Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where certain boxes on racks caused storage racks to load improperly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Trash Can could block restocker paths.
  • Fixed an issue where box physics would not function properly when clients picked up boxes from the loading area.
  • Fixed baker idle waiting positions.
  • Fixed a visual issue in scale placement mode.
  • Fixed an issue where baker baskets would not save properly.
  • Fixed an issue where firing or rehiring the Baker would not properly reset its state.
  • Fixed an issue where boxes dropped by the Baker were not interactable for clients.
  • Fixed an issue where money could not go into negative values and therefore would not trigger the bankruptcy state.
  • Fixed an issue where products thrown from the crate do not synchronize between clients properly.
  • Fixed an issue where cleaning dirt and garbage would not grant XP.
  • Improved the UI for the Vending Machine menu on the Store PC.
  • Various UI/UX fixes and improvements.

More updates are on the way, so stay tuned!
