Supermarket Simulator's latest patch squashes restocker automation bugs and a rare loading crash that could lock out large stores entirely.

Patch 1.5.2 arrives with six targeted fixes, most of them centred on restocker automation and a critical stability issue that prevented large stores from loading. This is a maintenance patch, not a feature drop, but the bugs it addresses directly affect core gameplay loops that players rely on daily.

The restocker overhaul gets the most attention here. Three of the six fixes target AI behaviour: restockers now correctly pick up empty boxes from the ground, can drop ice cream buckets while idle, and restocker management toggle settings actually persist when you reload your save. These are not cosmetic issues. If your restockers were leaving empty boxes scattered across the shop floor, that cluttered your space and wasted time. If ice cream buckets got stuck in their hands, you could not reassign them to other tasks. If your carefully configured restocker settings vanished on reload, you had to reconfigure them every session. Players who have built large operations around automation will feel these fixes immediately.

The invisible box bug is the kind of creeping problem that compounds over time. When boxes ended up in vehicle trunks and became invisible, they still occupied inventory slots and could break stocktake counts. You would think you had space to store more goods, attempt to load them, and hit an invisible barrier. The fix prevents new invisible boxes from forming, though the patch notes do not clarify whether existing invisible boxes in live saves are automatically cleaned up or if players need to manually remove them.

The rare loading crash for large stores is the headline stability win. If your supermarket had grown beyond a certain complexity, the game could fail to load it entirely, forcing you to start over or troubleshoot by deleting recent additions. A single crash that locks players out of their save is worse than any balance issue. The patch notes do not specify what triggered this crash or how many players hit it, but its resolution means large-scale operations are no longer at risk of becoming unplayable.

What is absent is equally telling. There is no mention of performance optimisation, new features, or balance changes. This is purely defensive maintenance. The patch notes also do not address whether any of these bugs affected multiplayer saves differently than single-player ones, or whether the invisible box fix retroactively cleans corrupted saves. Players with existing large stores should load their saves and verify that restocker settings have persisted and that no invisible boxes are blocking their operations. If you have been holding off on expanding your store because of stability concerns, this patch removes one concrete barrier.
