The Trash Can might sound like a minor addition, but it's been on the community wishlist long enough that its arrival in Patch 1.2.9 feels satisfying. You can now place one anywhere in your store outside of the storage area, which makes a real difference near vending machines where empty boxes pile up fast. No DLC required, available to everyone.

Beyond that, the bulk of this update is multiplayer work, and it needed it. Optimised customer logic and improved CPU performance for larger stores should smooth out the frame pacing issues co-op players have been hitting. A handful of the specific fixes here are ones I'd have found maddening in practice: customers slowing to a crawl after day one, the host's save getting blocked, and the Ice Cream Helper spawning directly on top of you if the stand was occupied. Good to see those squashed.

Here's the full breakdown.

Full Patch Notes

Hello Traders!

We’ve just released Patch 1.2.9, featuring a new “Trash Can” furniture item, highly requested by our community, alongside various optimizations and a wide range of fixes and improvements to enhance your gameplay experience.

We’ll continue monitoring your feedback closely and work to resolve issues as quickly as possible.

New Furniture: Trash Can

Added a new “Trash Can” furniture item that can be placed anywhere except the storage area. It functions similarly to the default trash bin outside the store and is especially useful when placed near vending machines, allowing you to dispose of empty boxes on the spot.

This item is available to all players and does not require any DLC.
