Hotfix 14.1 arrives as a surgical intervention rather than a broad rebalance, targeting specific weapons that have lagged behind their peers and one enemy ability that has proven too punishing in practice. The patch does not announce itself as a major overhaul, but the changes to the Heroic Stalker Bolt Rifle and Heroic Combi-Flamer suggest Fatshark has identified a clear problem: these weapons were not keeping pace with alternatives in their class.

The Stalker Bolt Rifle now triggers its auspex scan after three body shots instead of four, and the scan radius expands from 8 to 10 metres. On paper this seems modest, but the consequence is immediate: you reach the scan trigger two shots faster, which matters significantly in Heresy difficulty or higher where every second counts. The radius bump gives squad-mates more breathing room to act on the information the scan provides. The Combi-Flamer receives even more direct help: the flamer barrel charges faster, the bolter barrel gains 10 per cent damage, and crucially, flamer ammunition now refills from Ammo Crates. That last change removes a friction point that likely made the weapon feel unreliable compared to the Combi-Melta, which already had this functionality. The Melta itself gets the same treatment, restoring Ammo Crate refills, suggesting a previous patch may have broken this feature or that both weapons were meant to share it from the start.

The Heroic Power Fist adjustment allows a single charge in hold stance to fire a melta blast, lowering the activation threshold and making the weapon more accessible in sustained combat. These changes cluster around a theme: removing friction from weapons that players have likely abandoned for simpler alternatives.

On the enemy side, the Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer takes a hit. Its follow-up double beam attack delay now accounts for slower dodge roll animations, which sounds technical but translates to a fairer window for players to escape. More significantly, the teleport ability now deals substantially reduced damage, addressing what appears to have been an one-shot threat that left squads no counterplay. This was the kind of ability that could swing a run in seconds, so the nerf directly improves survivability.

Behind the scenes, Fatshark has patched a series of Siege Mode progression bugs: "Squad Unity" and "Split Up" battlefield conditions had their radiuses swapped, the Tactical's Kraken Penetrator Rounds perk was incorrectly granting penetration to projectile weapons, and "Come Prepared" was not distributing stimms to all squad members. These are not cosmetic fixes. A swapped radius can invalidate entire squad positioning strategies, and a broken perk undermines build viability. The progression tracking fixes for Ordeals and weekly challenges address a more insidious problem: players completing content without the game recording it, which erodes trust in the progression system itself. Hotfix 14.1 is lean on headline features but dense with corrections that restore intended functionality and close gaps between weapon tiers.
