Sins of a Solar Empire II Update Notes for (7th April 2026)

Sins of a Solar Empire II gets a small but focused stability patch today, targeting crashes that were hitting modded games and save file loads.

The April 7th update for Sins of a Solar Empire II is a tight stability pass, four fixes, no fluff. Small update, but the kind that matters if you've been running mods or sitting on an older save file.

The two most notable fixes here are the audio engine crash tied to mod unloading and the GUI crash on quit. If you've been playing with mods and hitting a hard crash when exiting, this is the patch you've been waiting for. The mod.io unlisted mod and mismatch issues are also resolved, which should smooth out the multiplayer experience for anyone running custom content. Credit where it's due, Stardock is keeping the cadence up on these smaller fixes rather than letting known crashes sit.

The save game fix is worth flagging too. Players loading old v1.50 scenario saves were hitting a crash on load, which is exactly the kind of thing that quietly kills long-term engagement. Getting that sorted out is the right call. Full patch notes below.
