Mod Anvil and Mod Ryan are back with May's Month Ahead, recapping April's work and laying out what's coming in May. The headliner is the Dungeoneering Remaster, which launches May 11th, and if you've been waiting on that one, it's a big deal for a skill that's been overdue a proper overhaul for years.

The more interesting wrinkle is how the team is handling speedrunning. The speedrun-specific elements of the Dungeoneering Remaster won't go live with the main update; they'll follow in the week after. The reasoning is sensible: Jagex wants to make sure no bugs give early runners an unfair edge over those who attempt it later, and they're using that window to check how expected completion time thresholds shift post-update. It's the kind of staged rollout decision that's easy to overlook but actually shows some care for competitive integrity.

A few more community blogs are also in the pipeline, with the team committing to flag them in the weekly Monday post before they drop. The complete notes are below.

Community Notes

  • While the majority of the Dungeoneering Remaster is launching on May 11th, we will only be releasing aspects of the update related to speedrunning in the following week. This is to ensure that there are no issues present in the update that would give early speedrunners an unfair advantage over later speedrunners. We also want to use this gap to validate how expected time thresholds for completion change after the update has been implemented.
  • We are continually working on a number of other blogs and community topics, so you may see a few more pop up throughout the weeks. We will, however, always try to give you a heads up that these are coming using the weekly Monday blog post.
