RuneScape Boku Payment Method Retirement Patch Notes (15th June 2026)
Boku mobile carrier billing is getting axed from RuneScape's payment options in two months. Here's what you need to know.

Jagex is pulling the plug on Boku as a payment method, effective August 17th, 2026. If you've been using mobile carrier billing to grab Bonds or cosmetics, you've got two months to switch to something else.
This is part of what Jagex calls "payment optimisation efforts," though the official notes mention provider availability and long-term support as the real drivers. The good news: membership subscriptions and recurring payments aren't touched, so your active membership stays intact. Only microtransactions like Bonds and in-game cosmetics are affected. Jagex isn't planning an immediate replacement, but they're still exploring alternatives down the line.
If you're currently set up with Boku, you can change your payment method anytime through account settings. Credit cards, PayPal, and region-specific local payment methods are all available. Head to the official RuneScape announcement for the full breakdown and contact Player Support if you hit any snags switching over.
