Old School RuneScape Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts Notes (15th April 2026)
Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts is live in Old School RuneScape, bringing a revamped Skill Tree, Echo Bosses, and a starting area shake-up that ditches Misthalin entirely.
Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts went live in Old School RuneScape today, with worlds coming online at 10:30am UTC. The full launch notes cover everything from the new Pact system to world availability, and there's more here than a typical seasonal reset.
The biggest structural change is the starting area. Previous leagues dropped you in Misthalin; this time you begin in Varlamore, and Misthalin is completely inaccessible for the entire run. That's a shake-up for veterans who've built their early-game muscle memory around Lumbridge. The new Demonic Pacts Skill Tree replaces the old relic setup with a points-based system you spend on combat buffs, which should give players far more room to build something that actually feels personal. Echo Bosses return too, now dropping items that tie directly into your Pact choices, so the endgame loop has a cleaner through-line than before. I think this is one of the more interesting structural overhauls a league has had in a while.
Elsewhere, the Easter 2026 Event gets a one-week extension rather than ending today, and the Jagex Launcher now auto-installs RuneLite for new users without redirecting them to an external site. The PvP rota has also shifted to Period B. Leagues VI runs until the June 10th update, giving players 56 days total.
Here's everything that changed.

Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts
- Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts worlds will go online today at 10:30am UTC. Just like previous iterations, we've made some big changes which were gently requested by Yama:
- Demonic Pacts: We've developed a more flexible Skill Tree for you to really feel unique and powerful this time. Earn Pact Points and spend them to unlock insane buffs to combat.
- Echo Bosses: These powerful variants return, this time with items that benefit directly from the Demonic Pacts!
- New Starting Area: We're beginning our journey this time around in Varlamore, which is a huge shake up from previous leagues as you'd start in the iconic Misthalin. Did we mention you won't be able to visit Misthalin at all this league?
- Brand new Relics, QoL improvements and more!
Jagex Launcher Improvements - New RuneLite Installations
Weve improved the way new RuneLite users can install the client via the Launcher:
- No longer need to click on Install and head to the RuneLite website to install the client. Simply select RuneLite as your preferred client within the Launcher, click Play, and the Launcher will automatically install the client for you and then load it.
- You might have to wait a few moments for the installer to finish, signalled by the Play button changing to a progress wheel.
This only applies to those who do not currently have RuneLite installed.
Other Changes
- We previously announced that the Easter 2026 Event would be removed today, but the Easter Bunny hasnt packed up the stalls and decorations just yet! You have an extra week to go egg hunting before the event wraps up next Wednesday.
- Brutus icon now appears in HiScores interface on the Official Client.
- Some grammar has been corrected in the canoe experts' axe-related dialogue.
- The warning before climbing down the ladder from the Seers' Village rooftop course is now only shown if you're in the middle of the course at the time.

Our new Combat Mastery system gives you way more flexibility with what combat styles you want to specialise in as the Demonic Pacts form a skill tree, something we're trying for the very first time!
While your first point will be spent on the centre pact during the tutorial, from this point on you may branch out however you please, providing that you have unlocked a previous node connected to it. You'll have a total of 40 points to spend if you gain them all from the specific tasks that give them and you have up to 3 full tree resets, by defeating your first three unique Echo Bosses and earn yourselves those sweet, sweet resets.
If you want a helping hand on you build, our friends over at the OSRS Wiki have created a fantastic Demonic Pacts Calculator which also works with their DPS Calculator! Alongside this, we've teamed up with Faux, Sardaco, Zizaran & JonMP4 to give you a couple of recommended build for you to try!

Note: those of you who've been keeping up with the teasers and information we've shared in the lead-up to Leagues VI are likely familiar with the tasks that provide Demonic Pacts points. Following some feedback around 'difficulty imbalance' in certain regions for these unlocks, we've made the following changes to make players obtaining their 40 points more achievable regardless of region choices:
- Kourend: "Equip a piece of Radiant Oathplate" is now "Equip a full set of Oathplate armour"
- Asgarnia: "Defeat the Awakened Whisperer" is now "Equip a pair of Avernic Treads (max)"
These two tasks stood out as the most 'skill-check' options where your additional power from Demonic Pacts and Relics isn't likely to be a difference maker like it is in many other Pact tasks, so we've brought them more in line with other tasks which can be reliably stat-checked by players with powerful builds, even though some of these tasks may still be more of a grind than others in spots!
Theses fearsome versions of iconic bosses return this leagues and while you'll be familiar with all but one of the bosses themselves, the rewards have been reworked to directly work with the Demonic Pacts to help amplify your build.
Battle the original version of the boss for a chance to score an Echo Orb, which will let you fight the more powerful variant, giving you a chance to come away with their exclusive items. All areas aside from Karamja have Echo Bosses, so you'll have a choice of 4 Echo Bosses you can face-off against this time around.
We worked with the wonderful Scritic to create a video all about this league's Echo Bosses and Items, so check it out for more info!

Of course, just like a PKer without at least one spade worth of loot, what is a league without Relics? Leagues VI is no different in that aspect and we've made sure this versions roster will be one of the hardest to choose from, so beware!
You can find out all the information around the relics by visiting the Get Ready For Leagues VI newspost.
In terms of your unlock thresholds here's what you can expect:
- Tier 1 - 0 points
- Tier 2 - 600 points
- Tier 3 - 1,200 points
- Tier 4 - 2,600 points
- Tier 5 - 5,200 points
- Tier 6 - 8,500 points
- Tier 7 - 16,500 points
- Tier 8 - 28,000 points
The systems aren't the only things changing this league as you won't be starting in Misthalin for the very first time, in fact, Misthalin is not even available to visit at all! Instead you'll being your journey in a unique version of Yama's Lair and then right after the tutorial you can head into the Shining Kingdom itself, Varlamore!
This presents another twist on leagues most staple version by kicking things off in the most recently released region, which has plenty of content to get lost in! Once you've got your first area unlock, you'll automatically unlock Karamja, with the next three being up to you. Make sure to keep in mind what relics and Pacts you're choosing as theses areas can really make the difference.
What's nice this time around is all areas have the same amount of total points, which gives everyone racing for those top spots, some more freedom!
But when can you unlock your areas? Well that will depend on the amount of tasks you complete:
- Varlamore - 0 tasks
- Karamja - 80 tasks
- Area Choice #1 - 200 tasks
- Area Choice #2 - 350 tasks
- Area Choice #3 - 450 tasks
As an extra bit of information for you Wilderness pickers, we've moved Krystilia into Ferox Enclave to help with Slayer!
