Crytek is trying something new with this one. Update 2.7.1.2 deploys tomorrow, May 20th, at 09:00 CEST, and it marks the studio's first attempt at pushing a game client update with zero downtime, not just backend changes.

The patch itself is small by design, minor polish and stability fixes, because this is explicitly a test run for the new deployment method. If it works cleanly, it sets a better precedent for how future updates get pushed out, which matters more than anything in the actual changelog. One thing to flag: zero downtime doesn't mean zero effort on your end. You'll still need to log out, let the update install, and log back in before the changes take effect.

I'll be honest, the contents aren't the story here. Getting client patches out without pulling the servers down is a quality-of-life improvement that most live-service games should have figured out years ago, so seeing Crytek move in this direction is encouraging. Here's the full breakdown.

Full Patch Notes

Hunters,

Tomorrow, May 20th, at 09:00 CEST, we will be deploying Update 2.7.1.2. This update will be installed with zero downtime.

Some of you may have noticed that we have already shipped a number of backend updates with zero downtime, but this will be our first attempt at deploying a minor game client update the same way. As this is a test run, the update itself will be quite small, containing minor polishing and stability improvements.

We will let you know once the update has finished deploying. Please note that for the changes to take place, you will still need to log out, allow the update to be installed, and then log back into the game.

Thanks!
