Granblue Fantasy Relink 2.0.3 Patch Notes (31st July 2026)
Granblue Fantasy Relink's latest patch tackles the co-op stability issues that have plagued online sessions, plus fixes for missing crewmate cards and trophy unlock failures.

Version 2.0.3 is a stability patch, and that distinction matters. Rather than balance changes or new content, this update targets the friction points that crash or softlock online co-op sessions, which is where Relink's social draw actually lives. The changelog reads like a bug report, but the practical effect is that players attempting to farm quests together will encounter fewer interruptions.
The most consequential fix concerns a specific softlock that triggered after repeating and clearing quests on the Grandcypher's deck and then travelling to Seedhollow. This combination of actions is precisely the kind of routine farming loop that co-op players execute repeatedly, so the intermittent nature of the bug means some groups hit it constantly whilst others never saw it at all. The same goes for the matchmaking timeout softlock that trapped remaining party members when the leader disconnected during a retry prompt. These are not exotic edge cases; they're failure modes that emerge from normal play patterns. Addressing them removes a source of genuine frustration, though the patch notes offer no data on how frequently these bugs occurred.
Network performance improvements are mentioned but not quantified. The notes state that performance of network functionality has been improved, thereby reducing occurrences of network errors, but offer no specifics on what changed, what error rates were before, or what players should expect now. This vagueness is typical of backend optimisations, but it leaves players guessing whether their connection issues will actually improve or whether this is a marginal tweak.
The backup character list fix addresses a narrower problem: if another player's captain had a character-unique sigil and appeared in a different form than your own captain, that player wouldn't show up in the backup list at all. This is a visibility bug rather than a balance issue, but it could silently prevent players from selecting certain characters in co-op, which is a usability failure.
Crisis mode returns for players who missed Gallanza or Maglielle crewmate cards. The patch includes a fallback method to obtain them by watching the "New Allies" cutscene and visiting Folca or Seedhollow, which suggests these cards were unobtainable for some players under the normal unlock path. Whether this was a progression blocker or a completionist annoyance depends on individual circumstances, but the existence of a workaround indicates the original bug was known and is now addressed.
The trophy unlock failures affecting Seventh Heaven, Saber This Moment, Forever Tweenty, Perfect Arc, Lightbringer, and Evangelium are now fixed. These are achievement-tracking issues rather than gameplay blockers, but they matter to players pursuing completion. The patch also corrects UI colour display bugs for Narmaya, Beatrix, and Id menu illustrations, a minor cosmetic fix that affects only visual presentation. Absent from this patch is any mention of balance adjustments, new quests, or character changes, which suggests the development focus remains on stability rather than content expansion.
